I fell in love with pastels a few years ago and since then I have concentrated on painting with them. I love the color and the feel as pastel is put to a surface. I have found that I can just pop a few in my pocket to take along with a sketch book when I travel or go for a walk. Nature has always been my favorite subject to either paint or photograph. I spent the first 27 years of my life in the Pacific Northwest where I grew up with camping, hiking and fishing and training in forestry as a 4-H Member when in my teens. Moving to South East Idaho in the mid 70’s I found the beauty of the high desert as a great area for photography along with traveling into Utah and rock formations in Canyon Land and Moab areas. I have been interested in photography since the early 1970’s but did not pursue any painting endeavors until early 2000. I try and take classes and workshops to improve my skills when ever I have a chance. Pastel Stephanie Birdsall Suzan Ogilvie Donna Yeager Brenda Mattson
